Conclusions and presentations from DWF Research Meeting on research in Water Sector Programmes, June 23, 2004
The meeting had more than 35 participants who were eager to debate the issue of research and development in the Danish development assistance. Some of the conclusions from the meeting are:
- There is no component (or sub-component) purely dedicated to research in a Water Sector Programme;
- To ensure more room for research in the sector programmes it is important that the content of the research is defined during the formulation of the programme;
- With regard to the financing of development research it is important that researchers look for funding outside the sector programme support and ENRECA;
- The Knowledge Network for Water and Development can assist identifying research topics as well as the lack of clarity about the link between research and water sector programmes.
