World Water Forum

The World Water Council was established in 1996 in repsonse to the growing concern of the global water situation and granted special consultancy status by the UNESCO and ECOSOC. Every third year the WWC hold a World Water Forum (WWF) where all international water partners aprticipate to discuss the most critical issues related to the global water situtation at the moment. The WWC aims to promote awareness and increase the political commitment. In doing so the WWC aims to trigger action on critical water issues from all levels of decisison making and thereby facilitate sustainable water management.

Danish Water Forum was involved in the European preparatory process and will continue to be active within the selected 8 European topics.

Danish Water Forum in cooperation with The Trade Commission of Denmark organized a Danish pavilion at the fair. Grontmij/Carl Bro Turkey (Engineering and Environment Consultancy), DHI (international consulting and research organisation), and the Environment Agency attended the Forum through Danish Water Forum's pavilion. Companies such as NKT Flexibles (Pipe systems to the offshore oil and gas industry as well as the chemical water industry worldwide), Danish Clean Water (Disinfection systems for the food and water industry), Danfoss RO (Seawater desalination), and the Trade Commission of Denmark in Istanbul had their own stands as a part of the Danish pavilion.
