The Research Platform - Water has been initiated to support the Danish research within water
The Research Platform - Water was founded on December 12, 2005. The purpose of the platform was to identify the needs, the possibilities and the challenges for Danish research, innovation and technological development within the water sector. Prior to the foundation there has been a number of meetings, and a report showing the positions of strength and the needs for research had been elaborated (the report is available on the.
At the first meeting of the Research Platform - Water a chairman was appointed and a steering group as well as 6 working groups (now 5) were established. All interested parties from research institutions, industry, consultancy firms and public authorities were invited to participate in the working groups, which are:
- Land use and food production
- Water supply, wastewater, and industry
- Water quality and health
- Water resources and information technology
- Management and decision support
