EU - Waternet
The purpose of the EU – Waternet is to support the opportunities for Danish enterprises to participate in EU financed research and development projects. The Research Platform – Water, which is part of Danish Water Forum, has obtained financial support to create such a network from the Danish Agency for Science Technology and Innovation.
The EU – Waternet focuses on the complete project cycle from identification of the problem and definition of research initiatives through pilot projects to final implementation in enterprises, utility companies or authorities. We seek to involve all relevant partners in the network activities.
The establishment of a Danish network will facilitate the participation of small and medium-sized enterprises in the EU programs, as they will be able to get support from the network and benefit from the lessons learned.
The EU – Waternet is oriented towards the 7th EU framework program, but also towards the other EU research and development programs dealing with water. Another purpose of the EU – Waternet is to ensure a strong Danish participation in the implementing consortiums related to the European technology platform Water Supply and Sanitation Technology Platform – WSSTP, and contribute to a significant Danish participation in accomplishing the pilot projects to be carried out by the WSSTP co-operation.
