The SACCNet initiative was inititated on the basis of the collaboration between three Danish networh ks, with DWF, Danish Development Research Network DDRN and finally Danish Research Network for International Health ENRECAHEALTH. These three networks comprise an advisary group for DANIDA as a climate change task force. The main object for this task force is to promote knowledge sharing and strengthened collaboration between North and South in relation to climate change and adaptation to impacts in developing countries. In contact with the Harry Oppenheimer Okavango Research Center in Botswana the first workshop was organized in Shakawe. On the basis of reports mapping the climate change, food security and water key institutiones in the region were identified. A workshop in Cape Town was the continuation from the Shakawe workshop. Here the SACCNet was officially established to promote further collaboartion .
